The SPA team brings together Australia’s leading research institutions in evaluating packaging system functionality, environmental performance evaluation (including LCA) and packaging system (eco)design, backed up with recognised expertise and capabilities in supply chain integration, intermodal transport systems, active food packaging, transport packaging dynamics, polymer (re-) processing technology, consumer behaviour, operational management, environmental accounting within their respective institutions.
To complement its research capacity, the SPA team includes specialists in research and innovation management and technology transfer. The team has proven skills in developing research strategies, defining and managing research projects spanning the research continuum from basic through to commercial research projects, building research capability in public and private sector environments, co-ordinating multi-organisation/multi-discipline and supply chain based research projects and, translating research outcomes into practice.
Through their extensive national and international networks these capabilities are able to access the widest possible range of research capabilities and expertise in packaging technological, environmental, social and economic disciplines. These dedicated research capabilities are available to assist organisations to define, develop and deliver research that addresses their business needs.
